Newborn

There is nothing more magical than welcoming a beautiful baby into your family. I keep my newborn images very natural and candid avoiding excessive posing and props. I offer both outdoor and home visits - or a bit of both, a few shots in home and a few outside. Of course we make sure bubs is rugged up and nice and warm before going outside- especially with Mount Gambier's unpredictable weather! In order to capture your baby's sleepy demeanor, you should schedule your newborn photos five to twelve days after giving birth.

Newborn home visits

Newborn information and preparation for your session

  • Keep bubs happy - this is the main priority. This means making sure your baby is warm, fed - just before your session and cozy. If you have any sentimental props such as knitted blankets, outfits or keepsakes you would like photographed with your baby please bring them along. Try to avoid bringing too many props/outfits where we have to move and change the baby as this can upset your little one.

  • Please don't stress, I know it can be overwhelming! Don't worry if your house isn't sparkling clean, your running a bit late or your baby has an accident. This is easily cleaned, we have plenty of time and I am in no rush!

  • What to wear - I recommend wearing neutral colors and dressing the baby in a color (if your going to put an outfit on your little one) so that the focus isn't taken away from bubs. Whites, greys, browns and beiges are always a good choice for parents. For more advice on outfits visit @goldensoulphotography on Instagram 'what to wear' highlight for examples and colour schemes.
